freecol software package provides open source remake of the old Colonization, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install freecol
freecol is installed in your system.
Make ensure the freecol package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep freecol *
You will get with freecol package name, version, architecture and description in a table
